Transactions that must be completed in a Customer Service Center

Below is a list of transactions that can only be completed at a full-service DMV customer service center. The $5 per vehicle registration renewal fee will not apply if the renewal is conducted with another transaction listed below for the same customer.

If one of the following is required for a driver's license or identification card

Proof of legal presence: a person is either a United States citizen or is legally authorized to be in the U.S.
Name change
Proof of residency
New photograph (if most recent photo was taken 10 or more years ago)
Application for a restricted driver's license

Motorcycle license
Medical review order
Escort (hauling) certificate for escorting overdimensional loads

If applying for a duplicate or replacement of a

Commercial driver's license
Commercial driver's license instruction permit
Driver learner's permit
Motorcycle learner's permit

If applying for a renewal of a
