Trailer Dealers - Licensing

Please note that it is unlawful for any person to engage in the business in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a motor home and/or travel trailer dealer or salesperson without first obtaining a license as provided for by the Virginia Code sections referenced above. Note that effective July 1, 2004, sellers of trailers weighing less than 3,001 pounds, not including livestock or boat trailers, do not require licensing.

Below is a list of the Va. Code sections (Va. Code §§ 46.2-1992.6 through 46.2-1992.19 and 46.2.1992.78 through 46.2-1992.80) that apply to Trailer Dealers:
