Tax Reporting Requirements
Once you are licensed under the IFTA Program, DMV will mail a tax report form to you each quarter. You must file your quarterly reports by:
- April 30
- July 31
- October 31
- January 31
As an IFTA carrier, you will receive a quarterly tax report form for reporting operations in all IFTA jurisdictions.
Note: You must file whether you receive the report or not.
If you do not file your tax reports on time, you will be subject to a late fee of $50 or 10 percent of the tax due, whichever is greater, and interest of one percent per month on the total tax due. These penalties will be assessed if:
- your report is not received at DMV or postmarked by the deadline; or,
- you do not remit the total tax due.
For your convenience, you can electronically file your quarterly tax filings using webCAT. Using webCAT, all you have to do is enter your miles and fuel purchases for a particular quarter and webCAT will complete the calculations for you!
