Responsibilities of Online Dealer Participants

Vendor:

  • Training of dealer personnel
  • Acting as the liaison between the dealer and DMV
  • Performing the daily deposit of funds into DMV’s account
  • Handling the daily reconciliation and summary reports
  • Managing the inventory of license plates and decals
  • Ensuring that the dealer complies with DMV’s procedures

Dealer:

  • Submitting the electronic application transaction for titles and registrations
  • Printing registration cards
  • Forwarding daily reports and ownership documents directly to DMV
  • Transactions must be processed to the vendor's system within 30 days of the sale.
  • Dealers licensed by DMV, but not those licensed by the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB), will receive 0.75% of fees and taxes collected for DMV, from DMV, as a commission.
  • Dealers licensed by the MVDB are required to pass the costs that the vendor charges for the transaction to the customer.
