Hampton Roads Area DMV Offices Closed November 12
Heavy Rains, Flooding Cause Unexpected Closures
RICHMOND - Fourteen Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers (CSC) in the Tidewater area are closed today, Thursday, November 12, due to inclement weather. The National Weather Service indicated that eastern Virginia could experience flooding and storm surge comparable to the affects of a Category 1 hurricane. DMV offices are expected to reopen on Friday, November 13.
The following CSCs are closed today:
- Chesapeake, 813 Greenbrier Parkway
- Courtland, 27426 Southampton Parkway
- Gloucester, 6577 George Washington Memorial Highway
- Hampton, 8109 Roanoke Avenue
- Newport News, 12730 Patrick Henry Drive
- Norfolk/Military Circle, 5745 Poplar Hall Drive
- Norfolk/Widgeon Road, 850 Widgeon Road
- Onancock, 20 North Street
- Portsmouth, 6400 Bickford Parkway
- Smithfield, 912 South Church Street
- Suffolk, 268 Holladay Street
- Virginia Beach/Buckner, 3551 Buckner Boulevard
- Virginia Beach/Hilltop, 1712 Donna Drive
- Williamsburg, 952 Capitol Landing Road
While DMV is closed, customers may complete transactions through the mail, DMV's automated telephone service (1-888-337-4782) and at www.dmvNOW.com where 25 different transactions are available including driver's license renewal, buying license plates or replacing a lost title or registration.
